Proudly upholding the legacy of excellence established by Paul S. Veneklasen, Our founder and a true-blue visionary in the field of Acoustics, Noise & Vibration.
Our history dates to 1938, when Paul S. Veneklasen worked as a researcher at the Electro Acoustics Laboratory at Harvard University which was halted by the explosion of World War II. War demands required focus on hearing protection, speech communication in noisy environments in cockpit of a fighter plane, noise reduction in military aircrafts and instruments for precise acoustical measurements. Acoustics was a new science at that time precise measurement equipment were not available and sound absorption and transmission loss properties of materials were still in the realm of discovery. This was the focus of our founder as a war effort.
The torchbearer in the field of Acoustics, Paul S. Veneklasen was a notable acoustical physicist who pioneered studies in environmental noise and solutions to industrial noise problems. A native of Grand Haven, Michigan, he earned degrees in Mathematics and Physics at North-western University and UCLA. In 1947, he founded Paul S. Veneklasen and Associates in Santa Monica, California. A prominent consultant to various governmental agencies and private companies on correcting environmental and industrial noise problems, he held patents on several inventions. These inventions enhanced and protected hearing, which included a sound shield for telephone transmitters, earphone sockets, shielded condenser microphones, and a cable system for microphones.
Staying true to our victorious legacy, Veneklasen Associates continues to bear the prestige and our core values to make notable difference in the field of Acoustics.

is the principal and is associated with the company since 1968. With more than 50+ years of experience in Acoustics Engineering, analysis of vibration as they relate to people and structures. He has worked on many projects involving shock and vibration.
Anika started her career with a leading Acoustics, Noise, Vibration, and AV consulting firm. Her work in acoustics has included noise/vibration measurements and regulatory analysis and preparing of noise impact analysis for environmental projects, before and during attending University. By studying Environmental Science, Anika not only achieved an understanding of the impact of noise and vibration on the environment but she also achieved a broader perspective on how to solve a problem.
